Targets bass or other large fish. If tied on a salt water hook the possibility's are great.

Materials:
Hook: Almost any straight eye hook size 6 or larger.
Thread: Whatever you like from 8/0 (70 denier) to mono cord.
Gills and weight: Copper ultra wire. Use the large size for more weight, the smaller for less weight.
Wing: Buck tail yellow and brown. Add the brown Buck tail to the top of the yellow to give the fly a dark back like a minnows.
Eyes: Adhesive prismatic or painted eye spots.
Head coating: After you form the thread head, if desired use a permanent marker to color the head -- green was used for this fly. Add the eyes and coat with epoxy.

1. Make a slight bend in the hook shank behind the area that the head will occupy. Mount the hook in your vice hook point up. Bind the copper ultra wire along the shank. |
2. Wrap the wire to make keel weight and gills. Cover at least half the shank. Secure the tag end of the wire and clip off the excess. |
3. Add a clump of buck tail. Trim the buts at an angle add a drop of cement and bind them down
4. Tie a few strands of Krystal flash along each side of the hair and add a few strands to the top of the wing clump. Bind down the butt end and cement the wraps. |
5. Add a smaller clump of darker hair to give the fly a darker back. Cement the butts and bind them down.
6. Whip-finish the thread. If desired, use a permanent magic marker to color the head. Give the head a coat of epoxy. Let the first coat dry. Add the adhesive or painted eyes and apply a second coat of epoxy.
